Dr. Hillary Raynes, pediatric neurologist, Mt. Sinai Hospital - I have been in practicing pediatric neurology since I graduated from Montefiore Pediatric Neurology Fellowship training in 1999. Prior to my fellowship, I completed a pediatric residency at Children's Hospital Oakland and Albert Einstein College of Medicine;  after returning to my native California for my internship, and loving the program and Northern California, I was drawn back to New York by the fellowship training program and my husband of 23 years now.  Our love for the outdoors and hiking, kayaking, and biking keeps us healthy and energized.  We have two wonderful teens who keep us quite busy!

During my Fellowship, I had the good fortune of working with an esteemed group of child neurologists, and I am especially indebted to Dr. Isabelle Rapin who was my mentor. Her lifelong commitment to the field of child neurology instilled a passion for our role as caregiver/provider and educator to future generations of child neurologists. I have spent the last 5  years at Mount Sinai Hospital, where I am the Director of the Child Neurology Clinic. I love the clinic setting where we treat the children from a wide geographic area and wide array of conditions; always seeing new presentations. We are also training our adult neurology, pediatric, and psychiatric residents  and providing the exposure to the field that will always be an essential part of their practices in years to come.

It is a very exciting time to be a pediatric neurologist, with the advent of pharmaceutical products for epilepsy, biomechanical technology for conditions that are medically refractory, neurosurgical interventions, and the ever expanding genetic testing. There are more treatments and therapies to offer our patients then ever before.

I am grateful for the opportunity to serve on the board of this wonderful school and honored to work with this wonderful group of children and parents.
